Institute of Technology Focuses on Core and Advanced Technologies Research

On February 19, a delegation from the General Department of National Defense Industry (CNQP), led by Major General Đinh Quốc Hùng, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the General Department, visited and worked at the Institute of Technology.

Accompanying the delegation were representatives of key leadership and commanders from various functional agencies within CNQP.

At the meeting, Colonel Phạm Tuấn Hải, Director of the Institute of Technology, presented the unit’s achievements. In 2024, the Institute undertook 32 research projects and tasks, including:

  • 3 National-Level Independent Projects
  • 11 Ministry-Level Independent Projects
  • 6 General Department-Level Projects

All core research areas aligned with approved strategic plans.

Additionally, the Institute proposed science and technology projects for 2026, including:

  • 1 National Product
  • 4 National-Level Projects
  • 13 Ministry of National Defense-Level Projects
  • 7 Initial Production Tasks (“Batch 0”)

The Institute also regularly conducts surveys, specialized science and technology seminars, participates in the Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024, and collaborates with military and civilian organizations on research and development. Key projects include designing and manufacturing next-generation weapons and technical equipment. Advisory and consultancy services for critical national defense projects have progressed according to schedule and quality standards.


Strategic Focus on Core and Advanced Technologies

Major General Đinh Quốc Hùng, speaking at the meeting, emphasized the Institute’s crucial role in:

  • Evaluating technological processes and ensuring quality control of defense production materials
  • Upgrading and automating existing production lines in collaboration with defense factories to increase efficiency and product quality
  • Expanding research and market development for defense products
  • Enhancing political and organizational stability in line with the directives of the Party and Ministry of National Defense

For 2025, the Institute of Technology will focus on:

  • Core and advanced technologies
  • Researching and developing integrated weapons systems
  • Manufacturing precision-guided weapons, smart weaponry, and mobile combat systems
  • Leveraging modern equipment and technology investments
  • Providing strategic advice on national defense industry development
  • Integrating digital technology into operational management
  • Successfully organizing internal Party Congresses

Commitment to Research, Innovation, and Military Readiness

During a tour of the Institute’s research facilities, Major General Đinh Quốc Hùng praised its technological advancements and contributions to Vietnam’s defense industry. He urged the Institute to:

  • Strengthen research and technological breakthroughs
  • Focus on major projects aligned with CNQP and the Vietnamese military
  • Expand scientific and technological services to support the defense economy
  • Enhance internal cohesion, unity, and leadership development
  • Empower young researchers and scientists to foster innovation

Additionally, he stressed the importance of maintaining military discipline, environmental cleanliness, and a professional research atmosphere.

This visit highlights the Institute of Technology’s pivotal role in advancing Vietnam’s defense technology, ensuring national security, and fostering innovation in the military sector.
