GAET Strengthens Its Role as a Commercial Representative at Vietnam Defence Expo 2024
The Vietnam International Defense Exhibition 2024 (Vietnam Defence Expo 2024) is a key international event, marking the significant advancements of Vietnam’s defense industry. Under the leadership of the Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Defense Industry, the General Engineering and Technology Corporation (GAET) has reaffirmed its role as a commercial representative, facilitating international military and defense cooperation.
Affirming GAET’s Role as a Key Commercial Representative
Held from December 19-23, 2024, at Gia Lâm Airport (Hanoi), the second edition of Vietnam Defence Expo serves as a platform for showcasing achievements, sharing experiences in defense technology, and promoting collaboration in defense industry development among participating countries.
Following the success of the inaugural 2022 edition, GAET was once again entrusted as the primary commercial representative of the exhibition. During the event, GAET focused on:
- Strengthening strategic partnerships to expand military and defense exports
- Exploring new technologies and materials, seeking technology transfer opportunities
- Participating in military and defense industry forums
- Facilitating high-level business meetings to drive international defense cooperation
As the commercial representative, GAET played a pivotal role in:
- Securing 85 exhibition booth contracts from 25 countries
- Signing sponsorship agreements with 28 organizations, amounting to nearly VND 120 billion
- Coordinating customs clearance, transportation, and security for military equipment exhibits
- Providing exhibition services to ensure compliance with security and safety regulations
GAET’s Presence at the Exhibition
In addition to its role as a commercial representative, GAET showcased its state-of-the-art exhibition booth spanning 108m², featuring a modern 3D design that reflects the company’s brand identity.
The booth displayed:
- Infantry weapons
- Training sailboats
- Armored vehicles
- Aircraft models
- Dual-use defense products
Additionally, GAET introduced:
- Audio-Visual solutions for modern command centers
- Smart meeting room solutions, including paperless conference systems
GAET’s booth attracted significant attention, welcoming high-level delegations, including:
- Senior officials from Vietnam’s Ministry of National Defense and the General Department of Defense Industry
- Military delegations from the UAE, Malaysia, Russia, and Laos
- Representatives from major defense corporations in the U.S., China, Russia, Israel, and France
- Over 30,000 visitors, including 110 organizations from 20+ countries specializing in defense and security solutions
During the exhibition, GAET conducted nearly 50 bilateral meetings to discuss:
- Technology transfer and joint ventures
- Export opportunities for Vietnamese defense products
- Strategic collaborations in high-tech defense manufacturing
GAET successfully signed a contract worth USD 13.2 million and 10 strategic cooperation MOUs with international defense enterprises.
Furthermore, GAET led delegations to visit 50 exhibition booths, engaging with potential investors and exploring the latest military technologies and innovations.
