Vietnam – Singapore: The Golden Opportunity for Business Networking

The Vietnam-Singapore Business Networking & Seminar was successfully organized by Intel Media & Consulting (a subsidiary of IMCE Singapore) and Talentnet Advisory Services, with the goal of promoting business cooperation and trade relations between the two countries. The event attracted companies from diverse industries, including finance, education, transportation, jewelry, food & beverage, electronics, machinery, and construction materials.

Strengthening Vietnam-Singapore Business Collaboration

Opening the seminar, Mr. Nguyễn Hoàng Phương, Chairman of IMCE Global, emphasized Vietnam’s rapid economic growth, particularly in business formation and export expansion. He reiterated IMCE Singapore’s mission to create more business networking opportunities, fostering stronger partnerships between Vietnamese and Singaporean enterprises.

“Vietnam is evolving rapidly, with businesses growing in both scale and ambition. Our mission at IMCE Singapore is to create as many valuable connections as possible, enabling businesses from Vietnam and Singapore to collaborate, expand, and thrive together.”

Representing the Singaporean organizers, Mr. Huang Chun Hsien, CEO of Talentnet Advisory Services, highlighted the significance of the event as Vietnam and Singapore approach the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations.

“Following in the footsteps of Singapore’s President, this business delegation aims to explore investment opportunities in Vietnam. We hope that this visit will unlock new business prospects for both sides.”

During the seminar, Vietnamese and Singaporean businesses gained valuable market insights from leading industry experts on investment opportunities and key considerations for doing business in Vietnam.

Vietnam’s Economic Potential & Investment Opportunities

Mr. Võ Trí Thành, Former Vice President of CIEM, outlined four key factors attracting Singaporean investors to Vietnam:

  1. Vietnam is a dynamic, fast-growing economy, where change and progress happen daily.
  2. Vietnam is a strategic business hub, actively engaging in numerous Free Trade Agreements (FTAs).
  3. Vietnam has certain challenges, but they present opportunities for Singaporean businesses to leverage their strengths.
  4. Vietnam and Singapore have a deep strategic partnership, built since the era of the late Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

Taxation & Legal Considerations for Singaporean Investors

Mr. Nguyễn Văn Phụng, Former Director of Corporate Taxation, provided detailed insights into Vietnam’s tax environment and key compliance factors for foreign investors.

Additionally, Ms. Trung Thị Liệu, a lawyer from Viet An Law Firm, participated in a panel discussion to answer legal inquiries from attending businesses.


Business Networking & Partnering in Vietnam

Following the expert presentations, a lively Q&A session took place, moderated by Mr. Daniel Pham, Vice President of IMCE Singapore. The most discussed topic was:

“How to Find Reliable Business Partners in Vietnam?”

This session enabled participants to exchange insights, share challenges, and explore solutions for effective business collaborations.


Closing Remarks & Next Steps

At the end of the seminar, Vietnamese and Singaporean business representatives exchanged gifts and expressed gratitude to the organizing committee.

The morning seminar on October 18 provided attendees with a comprehensive view of Vietnam’s business landscape, highlighting key opportunities and potential collaborations.

Following the seminar, the Vietnam-Singapore Business Networking Program will continue with a series of business exchanges and corporate visits, further strengthening bilateral trade and investment ties.
